Target group
This training platform primarily offers educational materials and pedagogical tools for professionals training those who work with individuals affected by domestic violence in their everyday day work (modules 1-7). It is aimed specifically at professionals from different fields and is not intended for those experiencing domestic violence or their immediate social environment. The two self-study modules are explicitly designed for practitioners (modules 8-9) and module 10 for line managers.
Additionally, for all of these target groups – including individuals affected by domestic violence – AinoAid™ offers reliable resources as well as assistance by a chatbot.
Introduction to the topic
Lawyers, prosecutors, judges, and legal professionals have to deal often with individuals who have been victims of domestic violence. Victims may seek legal advice, protective orders, or assistance with custody and divorce proceedings. Legal professionals can provide critical support and advocacy. Therefore, it is essential that the response from the legal sector is of the highest quality to ensure that victims of domestic violence receive the legal protection and justice they deserve.
Learning objectives
This training platform is designed to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of domestic violence and the skills needed to effectively address this issue. Participants will learn to recognise indicators of domestic violence, communicate sensitively with victims, and facilitate victims’ access to justice. They will also understand the importance of risk assessment and safety planning, international legal frameworks, interorganisational cooperation, the impact of stereotypes and unconscious bias and self-care in cases of domestic violence.
